In-person lessons are available at two Toronto locations:
West End: 1407 Dufferin Street, near Dupont Street
East End: 70 Silver Birch Avenue, in the Beaches
Online lessons are also available for students who prefer the convenience of learning from home.
Students receive access to customized sheet music, video demonstrations, and detailed lesson summaries to support their practice between lessons.
Free Beginner Drum Workbook
I've put together a collection of beginner-friendly drum exercises to help students develop their rhythm, coordination, and reading skills. Down the Drums is available as a free PDF, in black and white for easy printing.
Beginners will learn basic drum set anatomy, standard drum notation, basic music theory, beats, drum rudiments, and simple rock and pop songs.
Intermediate students will learn more challenging drum covers, and also about more specialized styles, such as Funk, Reggae, R&B, Metal, and Jazz.
Advanced students will learn how to optimize their technique and set-up for their own needs, and execute advanced beats and fills with nuance, precision, and musicality.
All students will learn how to make the most of their practice time to achieve their goals!

Hi, I'm Jeff! I've been playing drums for over 35 years and teaching private lessons for more than 25.
I've worked with students of all ages and experience levels, from young beginners discovering their first rhythms to experienced drummers looking to refine their technique and musicianship.
My approach combines a strong foundation in technique and musical fundamentals with the flexibility to explore the music that interests each student. Whether your goal is to play your favourite songs, perform with a band, or simply enjoy learning something new, I'll help you develop the skills and confidence to get there.
Above all, I believe learning drums should be challenging, rewarding, and fun.
